Vinegar is safe for dogs
Vinegar, in very small amounts, is safe for your dog. Because of its acidity, it can cause gastrointestinal discomfort along with vomiting and diarrhea. It’s best to dilute vinegar before giving it to your dog. Dogs with kidney disease should not have vinegar since their kidneys cannot eliminate the acid as well.
Many people like to give their dogs a small amount of vinegar, especially apple cider vinegar, because of its potential health benefits. While it is unlikely to cause harm in small amounts, evidence is lacking that vinegar consumption leads to any health benefits in dogs. Balsamic vinegar, red wine vinegar, and white wine vinegar should never be given to your dog as they are produced from grapes, which are toxic to dogs.
