Prawns are safe for dogs
Like shrimp, prawns are not toxic. They are high in protein and omega-3 fatty acids and low in fat. Prawns should be cooked since they may contain harmful parasites. The shell should also be removed since it can be a choking hazard to smaller dogs. It is safest to cook or steam prawn plain. Avoid using any ingredients, such as garlic, which may be harmful to your dog. Only give prawns as an occasional treat.
